About Carolina Elite Physical Therapy

Doctors of Physical Therapy in The Triangle

We are a team of three Doctors of Physical Therapy specializing in orthopedic, pelvic health, and vestibular care. Every patient gets one-on-one, 60-minute sessions.

No aides.

No overlap.

No shortcuts.

Why We Started Carolina Elite

Carolina Elite Physical Therapy was founded by Dr. Sara Roberts on a simple frustration: too many patients were getting 30-minute sessions with a PT aide that treated their symptoms without ever addressing the root cause. After 19 years of practice, she built the clinic she always wished existed.

We operate as a direct-access, out of network practice, which means we answer to you, not an insurance company's clock. Every plan of care is built from a comprehensive evaluation, starts treatment from day one, and every patient has direct access to their PT between visits.

We offer care both in our soon-to-be open clinic at Oakview Commons in Holly Springs and through mobile PT delivered directly to your home or workplace throughout the Triangle. Whether you are recovering from surgery, managing chronic pain, preparing for competition, or navigating pregnancy and postpartum, our team has the specialized training to meet you exactly where you are.

Dr. Sara Roberts

PT, DPT, Cert. DN — Founder & Owner

Dr. Sara Roberts is the founder of Carolina Elite Physical Therapy and brings nearly two decades of clinical experience to every patient she treats. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Elon University in 2007 and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from UNC–Chapel Hill in 2004.

Sara is certified in dry needling and vestibular rehabilitation, and has advanced training in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), kinesiotaping, and pelvic floor physical therapy through the Herman & Wallace Institute, one of the most respected pelvic health credentialing programs in the country.

As a competitive gymnast from ages 8 through 21, Sara holds a rare clinical specialty in treating gymnasts and cheerleaders, encompassing injury recovery, injury prevention, and movement technique. She currently provides on-site PT services at Sonshine Gymnastics for their competitive team. For Sara, physical therapy has always been about meeting people where they are and helping them move toward exactly where they want to be.

Dr. Lindsay Hren

PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS — Orthopedic Clinical Specialist

Dr. Lindsay Hren is a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), a credential held by fewer than 10% of physical therapists in the country. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from UNC–Chapel Hill in 2022 and went on to complete UNC's highly competitive Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency in 2023, where she received advanced mentored training in the diagnosis and management of complex musculoskeletal conditions.

Lindsay is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and is certified in dry needling, giving her the clinical tools to treat both acute injuries and long-term performance goals. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science from North Carolina State University in 2019, where she competed as a Division I swimmer, a background that informs her deep understanding of athletic demands, overuse injuries, and sport-specific return-to-activity progressions.

Lindsay treats patients across all ages and activity levels, with a particular passion for working with swimmers and athletes navigating the return-to-sport process.

Dr. Kate Krier

PT, DPT, Cert. DN — Pelvic Health & Orthopedic Specialist

Dr. Kate Krier specializes in both pelvic health and outpatient orthopedics, bringing five years of clinical experience and Herman & Wallace pelvic floor certification to her work with women across all life stages. She is also certified in dry needling and has advanced training in a wide range of women's health conditions.

Kate's pelvic health expertise includes treatment of dyspareunia, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and prenatal and postpartum musculoskeletal care. She has a particular passion for helping postpartum patients return to full activity, such as running, lifting, and the sports they love without limitations or compromise.

Kate earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Neuroscience from the University of Connecticut in 2017 and her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Marymount University in 2021. A lifelong multi-sport athlete who played soccer and field hockey growing up, Kate brings that competitive background to her work with youth athletes in field and court sports, as well as adults of all activity levels across the Triangle.

The Carolina Elite Difference

Most physical therapy clinics treat you in 30-minute windows shared with a PT aide. We do things differently, and our patients feel the difference from the very first visit.

1-on-1 Every Time

60 minutes, fully dedicated to you. Every session, every visit with your actual PT, not a tech or aide.

Goal-Driven Plans

Your plan evolves with you. Whether your goal is pain relief or performance, we build toward it each session.

Root-Cause Evaluation

We take a whole-body approach to understand your movement patterns and the true source of your pain.

Care That Comes To You

Choose in-clinic in Holly Springs, or mobile PT to your home or workplace anywhere in the Triangle.

Hands-On Treatment

Manual therapy, dry needling, and targeted exercise beginning at your first appointment.

Direct Access to PTs

Have a question between sessions? Reach your physical therapist directly without delays.
