Why Raleigh Patients Choose Carolina Elite Over Closer Options

Raleigh has no shortage of physical therapy clinics. Most of them operate on a high-volume, insurance-driven model: short sessions, multiple patients per PT, and significant time spent with a tech or aide rather than your actual therapist. That model works for straightforward cases with simple billing. For patients with complex injuries, specialty needs, or a history of treatment that has not worked, it often falls short.

Carolina Elite operates differently. We are an out-of-network, direct-access practice, which means we are not constrained by insurance protocols or shared session billing. Every Raleigh patient who works with us receives a full 60-minute, 1-on-1 session with a Doctor of PT, a plan of care built specifically around their condition and goals, and direct access to their PT between visits. For many Raleigh patients, the 20 to 30 minute drive to our Holly Springs clinic is a worthwhile trade for that level of care. For others, mobile PT eliminates the distance entirely.

We are also one of the few practices in the greater Raleigh area with a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), a certified vestibular rehabilitation specialist, and two Herman and Wallace certified pelvic floor PTs on the same team.

Physical Therapy Services Available to Raleigh Patients

All four of our specialty services are available to Raleigh patients, via mobile PT to your home or office, or in-clinic at our Holly Springs location.

Orthopedic & Sports PT

Sports injuries, chronic joint pain, post-surgical rehab, and return to sport. Our board-certified OCS and CSCS, Dr. Lindsay Hren, is one of the most credentialed orthopedic PTs in the Raleigh area. We treat Raleigh-area athletes including runners, cyclists, NC State club and recreational athletes, and adults at all activity levels dealing with conditions that keep them from doing what they love.

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy

Two Herman and Wallace certified DPTs serve Raleigh women for prenatal, postpartum, and pelvic health care. Mobile PT is available throughout Raleigh for postpartum patients who prefer care at home. We treat incontinence, dyspareunia, diastasis recti, pelvic organ prolapse, and return to sport after childbirth. All sessions are private and 1-on-1.

Vestibular & Balance PT

Dr. Sara Roberts is a certified vestibular rehab specialist treating BPPV, post-concussion dizziness, vestibular neuritis, balance disorders, and chronic dizziness across Raleigh. Mobile PT is especially valuable for vestibular patients in Raleigh for whom driving is difficult or unsafe during active symptoms.

Gymnastics & Cheerleading Rehab

Dr. Sara Roberts provides on-site PT at Sonshine Gymnastics and treats gymnasts and cheerleaders from Raleigh and the greater Triangle. We offer in-clinic and mobile options for gymnasts who travel from across Raleigh for specialized care that general orthopedic practices cannot provide.

Raleigh Neighborhoods We Serve

We provide mobile PT throughout Raleigh and see Raleigh patients in-clinic at our Holly Springs location. Below are the Raleigh neighborhoods and corridors we serve most frequently, organized by area of the city.

MIDTOWN AND NORTH HILLS

North Hills

Raleigh's midtown hub. Active professionals and families from North Hills come to us for orthopedic and sports PT. Mobile PT is especially popular here for patients with demanding work schedules near the Six Forks Road corridor.

Stonehenge

An established midtown neighborhood near North Hills Shopping Center. We serve Stonehenge patients for orthopedic PT, vestibular care, and pelvic health, both in-clinic and via mobile PT.

Midtown and Six Forks

A dense corridor of professionals and families with strong demand for both orthopedic and pelvic health PT. Mobile PT sessions timed around work-from-home schedules are frequently requested here.

NORTHWEST RALEIGH AND BRIER BREEK

Brier Creek

A tech- and professional-heavy community near RTP. Brier Creek patients are among our most frequent requesters of mobile PT at the office or home, fitting sessions around demanding tech-industry schedules.

Lake Lynn and Leesville

Established northwest Raleigh neighborhoods. We serve Lake Lynn and Leesville patients for orthopedic and pelvic health care via mobile PT, with in-clinic visits available for those who prefer our Holly Springs location.

Wakefield Plantation

A large, family-dense community in North Raleigh. Wakefield patients come to us primarily for orthopedic sports PT and postpartum care, frequently via mobile PT given the distance from Holly Springs.

HISTORIC, CENTRAL, AND SOUTHWEST RALEIGH

Five Points

A historic, walkable neighborhood west of downtown. Five Points residents come to us for the full range of our services. In-clinic at Holly Springs is a reasonable drive for most Five Points patients via I-40.

Cameron Village and Village District

One of Raleigh's most walkable urban neighborhoods. Young professionals and families from Cameron Village are a strong fit for our direct-pay model and frequently choose mobile PT for the convenience.

Glenwood South and Downtown

Urban Raleigh professionals and residents. Mobile PT is the most common access point for downtown and Glenwood South patients. We serve this area for orthopedic, vestibular, and pelvic health care.

SOUTH RALEIGH (CLOSEST TO OUR HOLLY SPRINGS CLINIC)

South Raleigh and Garner Border

The closest part of Raleigh to our Holly Springs clinic, about 20 minutes via I-40. South Raleigh patients often prefer in-clinic visits and benefit from our same-day and next-day appointment availability.

Walnut Creek and Southeast Raleigh

A growing area with strong demand for orthopedic and postpartum PT. We serve southeast Raleigh patients via mobile PT and at our Holly Springs clinic, which is accessible via US-401 or I-40.

Centennial Campus & Hillsborough St

Home to NC State's campus community, faculty, and staff. We treat active adults and student athletes from this corridor for orthopedic and sports PT, with mobile PT available to campus area residences.

Physical Therapy in Raleigh, NC Common Questions

Is the drive from Raleigh to Holly Springs worth it for PT?

For many Raleigh patients, yes. South and southwest Raleigh are about 20 to 25 minutes from our Oakview Commons clinic, and midtown Raleigh is about 30 minutes via I-440 and I-40. Most patients find that the difference in care quality makes the drive worth it. If the drive does not work for you, our mobile PT service brings the exact same 60-minute, 1-on-1 experience to your Raleigh home or office. No compromise on care quality either way.

Do you offer mobile physical therapy in Raleigh?

Yes. We provide mobile PT throughout Raleigh, from Brier Creek and North Hills to Five Points, Cameron Village, Walnut Creek, and south Raleigh. We come to your home, office, or another location of your choosing. Mobile sessions are the same 60-minute, 1-on-1 format as in-clinic care. Call or text us at (919) 283-4946 to discuss availability in your specific neighborhood.

Do I need a referral to start physical therapy in Raleigh?

No. North Carolina is a direct access state. You can book directly with us without a referral or prescription from your physician. Book online anytime at carolinaelitept.janeapp.com, or call and text us at (919) 283-4946.

Why choose Carolina Elite over in-network PT clinics?

The core difference is session quality. Most in-network PT clinics in Raleigh operate on 20 to 30 minute sessions with aide support and multiple patients per PT. At Carolina Elite, you receive 60 minutes, 1-on-1 with a Doctor of PT, every single visit. Our providers hold credentials including a board-certified OCS, a UNC Orthopedic Residency, two Herman and Wallace pelvic floor certifications, and a certified vestibular rehab specialist. For patients with complex conditions, specialty needs, or a history of treatment that has not worked, those credentials and that session model make a real difference in outcomes.

Is pelvic floor physical therapy available in Raleigh?

Yes. We provide pelvic floor PT to Raleigh patients both at our Holly Springs clinic and via mobile PT at your home. Two of our Doctors of PT are certified in pelvic floor PT through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. We treat postpartum recovery, urinary incontinence, diastasis recti, dyspareunia, pelvic organ prolapse, and return to exercise after childbirth. All sessions are completely private and 1-on-1.

Can I see a vestibular specialist in the Raleigh area?

Yes. Dr. Sara Roberts is certified in vestibular rehabilitation and serves Raleigh patients for dizziness, vertigo, BPPV, post-concussion dizziness, and balance disorders. If driving is difficult due to active vestibular symptoms, mobile PT to your Raleigh home removes that barrier entirely. For patients with severe dizziness, mobile PT is frequently the safer and more practical access point for starting care.
